What if I subscribed through the App Store?

iOS subscribers must cancel through Apple: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Mullvad VPN → Cancel Subscription. Check your account type

Go to https://mullvad.net/en/account and log in with your 16-digit account number. Check whether you see a 'Subscriptions' section — most accounts created after mid-2022 are prepaid (no recurring billing) and require no cancellation action.

Modern prepaid account: do nothing

If you have a standard post-2022 account, there is no subscription to cancel. Mullvad uses a pay-as-you-go model at a flat 5 EUR/month. Simply stop adding credit — your VPN access will stop automatically when the paid time expires. No charge will ever occur without you manually adding funds.

Legacy auto-renewal account: click 'Unsubscribe'

If you have a legacy recurring subscription (signed up before mid-2022), scroll down to the 'Subscriptions' section on your account page at https://mullvad.net/en/account and click 'Unsubscribe'. Follow the on-screen confirmation prompt. Alternatively, cancel directly in PayPal: Settings → Payments → Manage Automatic Payments → Mullvad → Cancel.

Cash and cryptocurrency payments are not eligible. After 14 days all payment data is deleted, making refunds impossible.

Uninstall the app

Remove the Mullvad VPN app from all your devices (Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android). Your account number remains valid indefinitely even after time expires — you can reactivate at any time by adding credit.

Optional: request full account deletion

If you want your account number fully removed from Mullvad's systems, email support@mullvadvpn.net with your account number and a request to delete the account. Support will confirm the deletion.
