Can I keep my data after cancelling?

No. Cancellation immediately and permanently destroys your project's database, files, thumbnails, and all backups. There is no grace period. You must export your data before cancelling — use the Data Studio export feature or take a database dump if self-hosting.

Will I get a refund for unused time?

No. Directus does not offer prorated or partial refunds for remaining subscription time. The only exception is Directus Plus (an add-on product), which has a 30-day refund window if you contact support by email.

Does the subscription cancel immediately or at the end of the billing period?

Cancellation takes effect immediately upon confirmation — the project and all data are destroyed right away, not at the end of the billing cycle. There is no option to cancel at period end while retaining access.

Can I downgrade instead of cancelling?

Yes. In the Cloud Dashboard, go to your project's settings (gear icon), scroll to the tier options, select a lower tier, and click 'Make Changes'. Enterprise plan downgrades require contacting the Directus sales team directly.

What if I accidentally created a project and want a refund?

Directus's Cloud Policies explicitly state that accidental or idle project creations are non-refundable, because each project reserves dedicated hardware and incurs infrastructure costs from the moment it is created.

Can I reactivate a cancelled project?

No. Once a project is cancelled, all data is permanently destroyed and cannot be recovered or reactivated. To use Directus Cloud again, you would need to create a brand new project and re-import your data from a previously saved export.

Log in to Directus Cloud

Go to https://directus.cloud/ and log in to your Directus Cloud account.

Export your data first

Before cancelling, export any data you need. In your project's Data Studio, navigate to a collection, click the export icon, and choose CSV or JSON. There is no recovery after cancellation — all data is permanently destroyed immediately.

Open Project Settings

From the Projects list on the Cloud Dashboard, click the gear (settings) icon next to the project whose subscription you want to cancel.

Click 'Cancel Subscription'

Scroll down on the project details page until you see the 'Cancel Subscription' button, then click it.

Type project name to confirm

A confirmation prompt appears requiring you to type the exact name of the project to proceed.

Click 'Confirm'

Click the 'Confirm' button to complete the cancellation. The project, all data, files, backups, and database are immediately and irreversibly destroyed.
