What happens to my contacts and campaigns after cancellation?

Your contact lists, email campaigns, and reports are retained for 120 days after cancellation. After that window, all data is permanently deleted. Export your data before canceling to avoid loss.

Do I have to call to cancel, or can I do it online?

Newer accounts have an online self-service cancellation option under My Account → Billing → Cancel Account. Some older accounts do not have this button and must call Billing Support at 855-229-5506 (US/Canada) during business hours.

Export your data first

Before canceling, export your contact lists (Contacts → Export) and download any campaign reports you need. Once cancelled, data is only guaranteed for 120 days.

Log in to your account

Go to app.constantcontact.com and sign in with your username and password.

Open My Account

Click your profile name or account name in the top-right corner of the dashboard, then select "My Account" from the dropdown menu.

Navigate to Billing

Click the "Billing" tab (second tab from the left on the My Account page).

Find the Cancel Account section

Scroll to the bottom of the Billing page to locate the "Cancel Account" box. Note: if you have an older account and this option is not present, you must call Billing Support at 855-229-5506 (US/Canada), Mon–Fri 8am–8pm ET, Sat 10am–8pm ET.

Click "Cancel My Account"

Click the "Cancel My Account" button inside the Cancel Account box. You may be shown retention offers at this point — options to downgrade your plan or pause your account for a reduced fee instead of canceling.

Select your cancellation reason

Choose your reason for canceling from the dropdown list provided. This is for Constant Contact's internal use.

Confirm cancellation

Click "Continue to Cancel Account" at the bottom-right of the page to finalize. You will receive a confirmation email at your account's primary email address within 24 hours.
