Can I still use Storytel after I cancel?

Yes. Access continues until the end of your current paid billing period. Storytel does not cut off service immediately upon cancellation.

Will I get a refund when I cancel?

Storytel generally does not refund billing periods already started. However, Hungarian subscribers are covered by EU consumer law: you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from your initial purchase date (not from renewals). If you cancel within that window, a proportional refund may apply.

Can I reactivate my subscription after cancelling?

Yes. Log back into your account at any time and start a new subscription. Your listening history and bookmarks are preserved in your account.

When should I cancel to avoid the next charge?

Cancel at least 24 hours before your next billing date. Your renewal date is shown in the Payments section of your account.

How do I delete my Storytel account entirely?

You must cancel your subscription first. Then, in the app go to Profile → Settings → Account → Delete account, or email privacy@storytel.com with a deletion request.

What if I subscribed through the App Store or Google Play?

You must cancel through the platform you used to subscribe. For iOS: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Storytel → Cancel Subscription. For Android: Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Storytel → Cancel subscription.

Log in to your Storytel account

Go to https://www.storytel.com/hu and log in with your email and password.

Open your Account page

Click your profile/avatar icon in the top-right corner to open the account menu, then select 'Account' or 'Fiók'.

Go to Payments / Subscription

In your account settings, find the 'Payments' or 'Előfizetés' section. Check the payment method shown — if it says 'Apple_IAS' cancel via iOS Settings instead; if 'Google_IAS' cancel via Google Play instead.

Click 'Manage subscription'

Next to your active HU Extra subscription, click the 'Manage' or 'Manage subscription' button.

Click 'Cancel subscription'

Scroll down and click the 'Cancel subscription' (Előfizetés lemondása) button at the bottom of the subscription details panel.

Complete the cancellation flow

Follow any on-screen prompts — Storytel may present a retention offer (discounted rate, free month, or pause option). Decline if you wish to proceed, then confirm your cancellation.

Save the confirmation email

Watch for a cancellation confirmation email to your registered address. Save or screenshot it as proof — multiple users report continued charges without this record.
