Will I still have access to TIM services after requesting cancellation?

TIM processes mobile cancellations within 24 hours and fixed/UltraFibra cancellations within 48 hours of the request. Service is deactivated once processing is complete.

Am I entitled to a refund when I cancel?

TIM uses pro-rata billing — you are charged for actual usage up to the cancellation date. No automatic refund is issued for prepaid periods. Will I be charged a cancellation fee?

If your plan includes a 12-month fidelity period (prazo de permanência) and you cancel before it ends, a proportional penalty applies based on the benefit originally granted and the remaining months. You can cancel without penalty within 7 days of signing a remote/online contract, or if TIM has materially failed to deliver your contracted service.

Can I reactivate my TIM line after cancellation?

Pre-paid customers can reactivate within 180 days of cancellation by making any recharge — this automatically restores the line. Post-paid and fixed internet customers must sign a new contract to return.

What happens to my phone number after I cancel?

Your mobile number becomes available for reassignment to another customer 180 days after cancellation. If you want to keep your number, request a portability transfer (portabilidade) to another carrier before cancelling — this triggers TIM cancellation automatically without losing your number.

What if TIM refuses to cancel or continues billing me?

Always keep your protocol number (número de protocolo) as proof of the cancellation request. If TIM refuses or billing continues, escalate to: TIM Ouvidoria at 0800 882 0041, Anatel at consumidor.anatel.gov.br, your state's Procon, or post a public complaint on Reclame Aqui.

Access Meu TIM portal

Go to https://meutim.tim.com.br/ and log in with your CPF and password. Alternatively, open the Meu TIM mobile app if you are on TIM Controle.

Open Services menu

Once logged in, scroll to the bottom of the main screen and click on 'Serviços' (Services).

Select cancellation

Click 'Solicitar cancelamento' (Request cancellation) from the services list.

Confirm line cancellation

Click the button 'Cancelar linha' (Cancel line). A digital form will appear — fill in your details and submit.

Handle retention offer

TIM may present upgraded plan offers ('novos planos TIM Live com ainda mais benefícios') before processing your request. Decline and confirm you want to proceed with cancellation.

Save your protocol number

After submitting, you will receive a protocol number (número de protocolo) via SMS or email. Save this — it is your proof that cancellation was requested. Cancellation is processed within 24 hours (mobile) or 48 hours (fixed/UltraFibra).
