Can I still access my coding history after cancelling?

Yes. WakaTime keeps your coding activity safe even on the Free plan. However, the Free plan only shows 1 week of dashboard history — your historical data is preserved and becomes visible again if you re-upgrade.

Will I get a refund when I cancel?

WakaTime does not offer refunds unless you cancel within 14 days of purchasing. If you are within the 14-day window, contact support@wakatime.com to request one. Refunds are returned to the original payment method and typically take about a week to appear.

When does my paid access end after cancelling?

Your Premium or Team features remain active until the end of the current billing period (monthly or annual). Cancellation stops the next renewal charge but does not cut off access early.

Can I reactivate my subscription after cancelling?

Yes. You can re-upgrade at any time from the Billing section of your Account Settings (https://wakatime.com/settings/billing). All your previously recorded coding data will be accessible again.

What happens to my data if I delete my account instead of just cancelling?

Deleting your account removes all your data permanently. If you only want to stop being charged, cancel the upgrade rather than deleting your account so your historical stats are preserved.

Does WakaTime auto-renew subscriptions?

Yes. Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You must cancel in your Billing settings prior to the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next period.

Log in to WakaTime

Go to https://wakatime.com and log in with your GitHub account or email and password.

Open Account Settings

Click your profile avatar or username in the top-right corner to open the account menu, then select 'Settings'.

Navigate to Billing

In the Settings sidebar, click 'Billing' to open the billing management page at https://wakatime.com/settings/billing.

Find your current plan

On the Billing page, your active subscription (Premium or Team plan) and renewal date will be displayed.

Cancel the upgrade

Click the 'Cancel Upgrade' or 'Downgrade' button associated with your current paid plan. WakaTime's terms confirm upgrades can be canceled at any time from this section.

Confirm cancellation

Confirm the cancellation when prompted. Your paid access will remain active until the end of the current billing period, after which your account reverts to the Free plan.
