Will I get a refund when I cancel Wistia?

No. Wistia does not provide refunds for cancellations or for unused portions of the current billing cycle. If you cancel mid-cycle, you retain access until the cycle ends but receive no partial refund.

What happens to my videos after I cancel?

If you cancel immediately, media stops playing for viewers and video analytics are no longer tracked. Your content remains stored but becomes inaccessible to viewers. If you cancel at end-of-cycle, everything stays active until that date.

Can I reactivate my Wistia account after cancelling?

Yes. You can reactivate by logging back into your account as the Account Owner and resubscribing. You may need to re-enter payment information. Accidentally cancelled accounts can be recovered the same way.

Who is allowed to cancel a Wistia account?

Only the Account Owner can cancel. Regular team members or managers do not have access to the cancellation flow in account settings.

Will my videos still be accessible to viewers after I cancel?

No. Once the cancellation takes effect (either immediately or at end of billing cycle), embedded and hosted videos stop playing for viewers. You should download any content you want to keep before cancellation takes effect.

Can I contact Wistia support to cancel instead?

Log in as Account Owner

Go to wistia.com and sign in. You must be logged in as an Account Owner — only Account Owners have permission to cancel. Regular account members cannot initiate cancellation.

Open profile menu

Click your profile icon in the top-right corner of the Wistia dashboard to open the dropdown menu.

Go to Account Settings

Select "Settings" (also referred to as "Account Settings") from the dropdown menu.

Click 'Cancel' in the side menu

In the left/side navigation menu within Settings, click "Cancel".

Choose cancellation timing

Select when you want the cancellation to take effect: immediately, or at the end of your current billing cycle. Choosing end-of-cycle lets you retain access through the period you've already paid for.

Click 'Continue to Cancel'

Click the "Continue to Cancel" button to proceed to the confirmation step.

Provide optional feedback

You may be prompted to select a reason for cancelling and leave optional feedback. This step can typically be skipped.

Confirm with 'Cancel Plan'

Click "Cancel Plan" to finalize the cancellation. You will receive an email confirmation. Your account remains active until the end of the chosen cancellation date.
