Can I access my Metabase instance after cancellation?

No. The instance is terminated at the end of the current billing period. There is no read-only grace period or suspended mode — once the period ends, the instance and all its data are deleted.

Are refunds available for Metabase Cloud?

No. Metabase's billing policy explicitly states that upfront annual payments, additional annual user payments, and monthly/quarterly true-up payments are all non-refundable. Monthly plan customers will not be charged beyond the current billing cycle.

How do I export my data before cancelling?

Contact Metabase support at support@metabase.com before cancelling to request a backup of your application database, which you can restore on a self-hosted instance. You can also use Dashboard Subscriptions to email question results as attachments. Do this before clicking the cancellation button, as the deletion is irreversible.

Can I reactivate my Metabase Cloud subscription after cancelling?

There is no documented 'resume' flow for voluntarily cancelled subscriptions. You would need to sign up for a new subscription. Deleted instances may be recoverable within a short window if you contact support@metabase.com quickly, but recovery is not guaranteed and typically takes 1–2 business days.

When is my instance actually deleted after I cancel?

The instance is deleted at the end of the current subscription period, not immediately when you click the cancel button. However, Metabase does not guarantee a data retention window after that point, so you should export your data before cancelling.

How do I cancel a Metabase Enterprise plan?

Export your data first

Before cancelling, contact Metabase support at support@metabase.com to request a backup of your application database, or use Dashboard Subscriptions to export your data. Cancellation permanently deletes the instance — there is no recovery option after the fact.

Go to the Metabase Store

Navigate to https://store.metabase.com/account and sign in with your Metabase Store credentials (separate from your Metabase instance login).

Open Instances

In the Metabase Store dashboard, click 'Instances' in the left navigation to see all your active cloud instances.

Find your instance

Locate the specific instance whose subscription you want to cancel. Each instance is listed with its name and plan details.

Click 'Cancel subscription and delete instance'

Under the instance, click the button labelled 'Cancel subscription and delete instance'. Note: this single button simultaneously cancels billing AND schedules the instance for deletion — there is no option to cancel billing while keeping data.

Confirm cancellation

Follow the on-screen confirmation prompts to finalise the cancellation. A confirmation email will be sent after completion.
