What happens to my security system after I cancel?

Your paid plan stays active until the end of the current billing period. After that, you revert to the free 'No Plan' tier: the local siren still works, you keep app access for arming/disarming and live camera view, but professional 24/7 monitoring stops — you must call 911 yourself in an alarm event. Cloud video recording, advanced automations, and AI Smart Detection are also removed.

Will I get a refund for unused time?

No. Abode does not issue pro-rated refunds for any unused portion of your billing period, whether monthly or annual. Your monitoring continues until the anniversary date, after which it stops. Equipment purchased with an annual plan can be returned within 30 days of purchase for a full refund.

How do I reactivate my subscription?

Open the Abode app, tap Menu (≡) > Profile > Plan Details, and select a paid plan. Reactivation is immediate with no waiting period, and your saved automations and scenes will become functional again.

What if I subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play?

You must cancel through the platform you used to subscribe. For Apple: go to Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions > Abode > Cancel Subscription. For Google Play: open Google Play > profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > Abode > Cancel subscription.

Can I cancel by contacting support instead of using the app?

Yes. You can reach Abode support via Live Chat at goabode.com or by emailing support@goabode.com to request cancellation. There is no phone cancellation option.

How do I delete my account and personal data?

To request deletion of your personal data, use the account deletion option in the app (Menu > Profile) or email support@goabode.com. Abode's privacy policy states they will securely delete or anonymize data when there is no legitimate business need to retain it. Cloud video clips may become inaccessible immediately upon downgrading from a paid plan.

Open the Abode App

Launch the Abode app on your iOS or Android device. Note: if your subscription was purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play, you must cancel through those platforms instead (see FAQ below).

Tap the Menu icon

Tap the Menu (≡) icon in the top-left corner of the app to open the side navigation.

Open your Profile

Tap your name or profile section at the top of the menu to open your account profile.

Tap 'Plan Details'

In your profile, tap 'Plan Details' to view your current subscription and available plan options.

Select the free 'No Plan' tier

On the Plan Details screen, select the free 'No Plan' option to downgrade and cancel your paid monitoring subscription. Confirm the change when prompted.

Confirm cancellation

Review the confirmation screen showing what features you will lose (professional monitoring, cloud video recording, advanced automations). Confirm to complete the cancellation. Your paid plan remains active until the end of your current billing period.
