Can I still access my data after cancelling?

Yes. Your subscription remains active until the end of your current billing period, so you retain full access until that date. After it expires, your account is locked (read-only or no access) for up to 90 days before potential permanent deletion. Export your reports before cancelling.

Will I get a refund after cancelling?

Sage does not offer pro-rated refunds. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle and you will not be charged for the next period, but no partial refund is issued for unused time in the current period.

When should I cancel to avoid the next charge?

Sage recommends cancelling at least five working days before your next billing date to ensure the cancellation is processed in time and you are not charged for another cycle.

Can I reactivate my subscription after cancelling?

Yes. The Manage Subscriptions screen shows a 're-subscribe' option after cancellation, and you can reactivate before your account is permanently deleted. After 90 days post-expiry, permanent deletion may occur and reactivation may not be possible.

What data should I export before cancelling?

Sage specifically recommends downloading your balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and trial balance. You should also export any invoices, customer records, payroll data, and bank reconciliation reports you may need for compliance or future reference.

How do I permanently delete my Sage account?

Cancelling a subscription does not delete your account. To request full account deletion, contact Sage support at [email protected]. Deletion is processed within two business days and a confirmation is sent via email. Note that deleting one account may affect other Sage products registered to the same email address.

Log in to Sage Accounting

Go to app.sageaccounting.com (or your regional Sage login) and sign in with your Sage account credentials.

Open Manage Business

Hover over or click your business name in the top toolbar, then select 'Manage Business' from the dropdown menu.

Go to Subscriptions

Select 'Subscriptions & Invoices' from the Manage Business menu, then click 'Manage My Subscription'.

Click Cancel Subscription

Click 'Manage Subscription', then select 'Cancel Subscription' on the relevant product line.

Bypass the retention step

Sage presents an option to speak with a representative to try to retain you. Select 'Other Cancellation Options' (or 'Continue with cancellation') to proceed without speaking to support.

Select a cancellation reason

Choose a reason for cancellation from the dropdown list provided (this is required before proceeding).

Confirm data download

Tick the checkbox confirming you have downloaded or printed any data you need (e.g. balance sheet, profit and loss, trial balance). Sage recommends doing this before cancelling.

Confirm cancellation

Click 'Cancel Subscription' to finalise. You will receive a confirmation and the Manage Subscriptions screen will update to show your subscription end date and a re-subscribe option.
