Can I still use ConfigCat after canceling my paid plan?

Yes. ConfigCat offers a free plan that is free forever. After canceling your paid subscription by switching to the Free plan, you retain access to the service with the limits of the Free tier (fewer feature flags, config downloads, environments, etc.).

Are there any refunds when I cancel?

ConfigCat's publicly available billing documentation does not explicitly state a refund policy. For refund inquiries, contact ConfigCat support directly at configcat.com/support.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

ConfigCat retains organization data as long as there is activity (API calls, config downloads, audit log events, or an active paid subscription). After several months of inactivity, they send a series of email notifications before deleting the organization and all associated data.

Yes. You can upgrade from the Free plan back to a paid plan at any time by returning to the Plans page (app.configcat.com/plans) and clicking the appropriate upgrade button. You need the Billing Manager role to do so.

Who can cancel or downgrade the subscription?

Only users with the Billing Manager role within the Organization can access the Plans page and make billing changes. If you are not a Billing Manager, ask an existing Billing Manager or Organization admin to either grant you the role or perform the cancellation on your behalf.

Can I delete my ConfigCat account entirely?

Yes. Go to your account settings at app.configcat.com/my-account to find the account deletion option. Keep in mind that deleting your personal account is separate from canceling an organization's subscription; the organization and its data persist until it becomes inactive or is explicitly deleted by an admin.

Go to app.configcat.com and sign in with your account credentials.

Verify Billing Manager Role

Ensure your account has the Billing Manager role for your Organization. Only Billing Managers can change or cancel plans. If you lack this role, ask your Organization admin to grant it via the Organization settings.

Navigate to the Plans Page

In the left-hand navigation or top menu, go to the Plans page at app.configcat.com/plans. This page lists all available plans including the Free tier.

Select the Free Plan

Locate the Free plan column on the Plans page and click the "Switch Plan" button beneath it to initiate a downgrade to the free tier (effectively canceling your paid subscription).

Confirm the Downgrade

Review the confirmation prompt that outlines what features will be lost upon downgrading. Confirm your choice to proceed with switching to the Free plan. Your paid subscription will be canceled and you will remain on the Free plan.

(Optional) Delete Your Account

If you want to fully remove your account, go to your account settings at app.configcat.com/my-account and use the account deletion option. Note: organization data is retained until inactivity triggers automatic deletion notices.
