Can I cancel my Verkada subscription early?

Generally no. Verkada licenses are sold as fixed-term contracts (1, 3, 5, or 10 years) with no early termination for convenience. The End User Agreement contains no cancellation clause for customers who simply want to leave. You are contractually bound for the full license term.

What happens to my cameras if I stop paying?

After the 30-day grace period following expiration, all Verkada cameras stop functioning entirely. The firmware and software inside the hardware is licensed, not owned, so cameras become non-functional without an active subscription.

Can I get a refund after cancelling?

Subscription fees are non-refundable. Hardware can be returned for a full refund only within 30 days of original shipment (up to $250,000 in product value). After 30 days, no refunds are available for either hardware or subscription fees.

How do I export my data before cancelling?

You retain access to Verkada Command during the 30-day grace period after license expiration. Download any recorded footage or data you need during this window. After the grace period ends, all customer data access is permanently terminated.

Can I reactivate my Verkada subscription after it expires?

Yes, you can renew or reactivate by contacting your Verkada Sales Representative or Reseller before or during the 30-day grace period. After the grace period ends, reactivation may require purchasing new licenses and potentially re-provisioning devices.

What if I have more cameras than licenses (insufficient licenses)?

If you have more cameras than active licenses, Verkada applies a 90-day grace period before restricting access to unlicensed devices. You can contact licensing@verkada.com to adjust your license count, or allow excess devices to lapse at the end of the grace period.

Log in to Verkada Command

Go to command.verkada.com and sign in with your administrator credentials.

Check your license expiration date

Navigate to All Products > Admin > Licenses & Renewals to view your active license term, expiration date, and co-termed devices. Note your exact expiration date — this is when your subscription ends.

Contact your Verkada Sales Representative or Reseller

There is no self-service cancellation button. You must contact either your assigned Verkada Sales Representative or the authorized reseller you purchased through. Request early termination or confirmation that you will not be renewing.

Email licensing@verkada.com if no rep is available

If you don't have a direct sales contact, email licensing@verkada.com with your organization name, the devices/licenses you wish to cancel, and your license expiration date. Request written confirmation of non-renewal.

Request hardware return if within 30 days of shipment

If you are within 30 days of original hardware shipment, you may return up to $250,000 in product for any reason. Email your Sales Rep or Reseller with device serial numbers, or use the returns portal at returns.verkada.com.

Allow the license to expire — do not renew

If early termination is not possible (licenses are contractually non-cancellable), simply do not renew when your term ends. After expiration, a 30-day grace period begins during which you retain read-only access to License Manager and Technical Support. After the grace period, all access to Verkada Command and device data is terminated and cameras stop functioning.
