What are Figma's free plan limitations?

Figma's free Starter plan includes 3 Figma files and 3 FigJam files per team, unlimited personal drafts, and unlimited viewers. Paid plans unlock unlimited files, version history, shared libraries, and advanced prototyping.

What happens to my files and components when I downgrade?

Files above the 3-file limit per team become read-only. Your shared component libraries are also locked. You can still view all files, but editing requires either deleting files to stay within limits or upgrading again.

Can viewers continue to view Figma files after I cancel the paid plan?

Yes. Viewers always remain free on all Figma plans. Cancelling a paid plan only affects editor seats. Anyone with a viewer role can still access and comment on your files.

Log in to Figma

Go to figma.com and sign in with your account. You must be an admin or billing admin of the organization or team to cancel.

Open Team or Org Settings

Click your team name in the left sidebar and select 'Settings' or 'Admin settings' to access team management.

Go to Billing

In the Settings panel, click 'Billing' to view your current plan, seat count, and next invoice date.

Downgrade or Cancel Plan

Click 'Downgrade' or 'Cancel subscription'. Figma will warn you that projects with more than 3 files per team will become read-only on the free Starter plan.

Confirm Downgrade

Review the downgrade impact and click 'Confirm downgrade'. Your active editors will be removed at the end of the billing period. Viewer seats remain free on all plans.
