What happens to my email list if I downgrade to the free plan?

If your list exceeds 500 contacts, you'll need to reduce it to fit the free plan limit. Contacts beyond the limit may be archived but not actively usable.

Can I export my campaigns and templates?

You can export your audience data, but campaign designs and templates cannot be directly exported. Take screenshots or copy HTML before cancelling.

Will my sent campaign reports still be available?

On the free plan, you retain access to past campaign reports. If you fully delete your account, all data including reports will be permanently removed.

Log into Mailchimp

Go to login.mailchimp.com and sign in to your account.

Navigate to Account settings

Click on your profile icon in the bottom-left corner and select 'Account & Billing' or go to 'Account' > 'Settings'.

Open Billing settings

Click on 'Billing' in the settings menu, then find the 'Monthly plan' or 'Pause or cancel account' option.

Choose to cancel

Click 'Cancel account' or 'Downgrade to Free'. Mailchimp may offer to pause your account instead of fully cancelling.

Export your data

Before confirming, export your audience data and campaign reports. Go to 'Audience' > 'All contacts' > 'Export Audience' to download your contacts.

Confirm cancellation

Type 'CANCEL' or your account name to confirm permanent account deletion, or select 'Downgrade to Free' to keep your account with limited features.
