Will I still have access to Harvest after I cancel?

It depends on which option you choose. 'Cancel my subscription' keeps your account active until the end of the current billing period. 'Close my account immediately' cuts off access right away, even if time remains in your billing cycle.

Can I get a refund after cancelling?

Harvest does not offer refunds for past charges or partial months of service. Cancellation stops future billing but does not entitle you to a refund for the current period.

What happens to my data after the account is closed?

Upon closing, Harvest emails you a link to download your time and invoice data; that link is valid for one week. All account data — timesheets, invoices, and project information — is permanently and unrecoverably deleted 10 days after the account is closed.

Can I reactivate my account after closing it?

Yes, if you act quickly. Contact Harvest support at support@getharvest.com within 10 days of closing your account and they can restore it. After 10 days, the account and all its data are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

Can I pause my account instead of cancelling?

Version 1 billing accounts had a 'place on hold' option. Version 2 billing (the current plan) does not offer an account hold — your only options are scheduled cancellation (access until billing period ends) or immediate closure.

Who can cancel the Harvest subscription?

Only the Account Owner can cancel a subscription or close the account. Team members and managers do not have access to the Billing settings and cannot initiate cancellation.

Log in to Harvest

Go to app.harvestapp.com and log in with your Account Owner credentials. Only the Account Owner can cancel or close the account — managers and members do not have this permission. This must be done via a web browser; cancellation is not available in the mobile or desktop apps.

Open Settings

Click your name or profile icon in the upper right corner of the screen, then select 'Settings' from the dropdown menu.

Navigate to Billing

In the left sidebar of the Settings page, click 'Billing'. This will show your current plan details and billing information.

Click 'Close account'

Scroll to the bottom of the Billing page and click the 'Close account' link. This opens a dialog with two options.

Choose cancellation type

Select either 'Cancel my subscription' (schedules cancellation at the end of your current billing period — you keep access until then) or 'Close my account immediately' (terminates access right away even if you have time remaining). Before closing, export any data you need, as you will receive an emailed download link valid for only one week post-closure.

Complete the exit survey

Click 'Continue' and answer three required questions explaining why you are cancelling. You must complete all three questions before proceeding.

Confirm cancellation

Optionally add any additional written feedback, then click 'Cancel my account' (or 'Close my account') to finalize. You will receive a confirmation email. If you chose scheduled cancellation, a yellow notice will appear in your Billing section — you can withdraw it by clicking the 'Cancel' link in that yellow message box.
