Can I still access my data after downgrading to the Basic plan?

Yes. Downgrading to the Basic (free) plan preserves your existing dashboards, reports, and alert rules. However, data retention limits of the Basic plan apply going forward, and older data beyond those limits may be purged.

Will I get a refund if I cancel mid-month?

Sematext bills hourly based on usage, so you are only charged for what you used. There is no monthly flat fee to refund — billing simply stops once you downgrade or disable your Apps.

Can I reactivate a cancelled or downgraded App later?

Yes. You can upgrade from the Basic plan to any paid plan at any time. If you deleted an App, however, that data is permanently gone and cannot be restored.

What happens if I just stop sending data without changing the plan?

If your Apps remain on a paid plan but no data is sent, you may still incur minimum charges depending on your plan. To avoid charges, explicitly downgrade each App to the Basic plan or delete the Apps.

How do I delete my data when canceling?

You can delete individual Apps at any time from the App Actions (⋯) menu, which permanently removes all associated data. You can also close your entire account from Account Settings, which deletes all Apps and data.

Are there any cancellation fees or penalties?

No. Sematext has no contracts and no commitments for month-to-month plans. You can cancel at any time with no fees. Annual plan holders should note they have committed to a yearly term.

Log in to Sematext Cloud

Go to apps.sematext.com and sign in with your account credentials.

Open Settings → Plans & Billing

Click on your account name or the gear icon to open Settings, then select 'Plans & Billing' to see a cost overview of all your Apps and manage your subscription.

Select an App to downgrade

In the data table at the bottom of the Plans & Billing screen, identify each paid App. Click on an App to open it, or use the App Actions menu (the horizontal ellipsis ⋯ icon) next to the App.

Choose 'Manage Plan' from App Settings

Inside the App, open 'App Settings' from the left sidebar, then click 'Manage Plan'. Alternatively, select 'Change Plan' directly from the App Actions (⋯) dropdown menu.

Downgrade to the Basic (free) plan

On the Manage Plan screen, select the 'Basic' plan (free tier). This immediately stops paid billing for that App while preserving your dashboards, reports, and alert rules. Repeat for each paid App.

Optionally delete Apps or close your account

To fully remove all data, you can delete individual Apps from the App Actions (⋯) menu. To close your entire account, go to Account Settings and select the option to close/delete your account. Both actions are permanent and irreversible.
