Do I lose access immediately when I cancel?

No. Your access continues through the end of the current monthly billing period after you give notice. Cancellation takes effect at the close of that period, not immediately.

Can I get a refund after cancelling?

SuperTokens does not offer prorated refunds for voluntary cancellations. Refunds are only applicable in specific cases such as a force majeure event preventing service for 30+ consecutive days or an unresolved breach of the functionality warranty.

What happens to my data after cancellation?

Your user authentication data stored in SuperTokens Cloud is not automatically deleted. You must send a written deletion request to team@supertokens.com, after which SuperTokens has up to 60 days to delete your data.

Can I reactivate my subscription after cancelling?

Yes. Since there is no minimum contract or lock-in, you can reactivate by signing back up through the SuperTokens dashboard or by contacting team@supertokens.com.

Is there a free tier I can downgrade to instead of cancelling?

Yes. SuperTokens Cloud is free for up to 5,000 monthly active users (MAUs). If your usage is below that threshold and you have no paid add-ons, you can simply remove paid add-ons and remain on the free tier at no cost.

Can I switch to self-hosted SuperTokens instead of the paid cloud plan?

Yes. The SuperTokens open-source self-hosted core is free at any scale. You can migrate your user data and run your own SuperTokens Core instance as an alternative to the paid cloud service.

Check your billing cycle deadline

SuperTokens requires a non-renewal notice at least 10 days before the end of your current monthly billing period. Log into your account and note your renewal date before proceeding — missing this window means you'll be billed for one more month.

Log into the SuperTokens SaaS dashboard

Go to https://supertokens.com/dashboard-saas and sign in with your account credentials.

Navigate to Billing or Subscription settings

Once logged in, look for a 'Billing' or 'Subscription' section in your account settings menu. If a self-service cancel button is present, click it to initiate cancellation of your paid plan.

Email cancellation notice if no self-service option found

If no cancel button is available in the dashboard, send a cancellation email to team@supertokens.com from your registered account email address. State clearly that you do not wish to renew your subscription. Send this at least 10 days before your billing period ends.

Await confirmation and end of billing period

Your access continues through the end of the current monthly subscription period after notice is given — you are not cut off immediately. Wait for a confirmation reply from the SuperTokens team.

Request data deletion if needed

After termination, send a written request to team@supertokens.com if you want your customer data (user authentication records stored in SuperTokens Cloud) deleted. SuperTokens must delete it within 60 days of your request.
