Will I lose access immediately after cancelling?

No. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current Subscription Term. You retain full access and are billed through that date, even if you send notice earlier in the term.

Can I get a refund after cancelling?

No. Rippling's Terms of Service state that all fees are non-refundable under normal circumstances. The only exception is if Rippling itself is in material breach of contract and fails to remedy it within 30 days of written notice — in that case a pro-rata refund applies.

What happens to my employee and payroll data after cancellation?

There is no published data retention timeline for paid accounts. Export all payroll records, employee files, tax documents, and reports before deactivating your account. For GDPR/CCPA data deletion requests, email privacy@rippling.com — requests are processed within 120 days.

How do I reactivate my Rippling account?

Rippling does not document a self-serve reactivation process. Because it is a contract-based B2B service, reactivation would require contacting the Rippling sales team to negotiate and sign a new Order Form.

I cancelled in the app but I'm still being billed — what happened?

In-app account deactivation does not constitute contract termination per Rippling's Terms of Service. You must also send a written cancellation notice to support@rippling.com at least 30 days before your Subscription Term renewal date to stop future billing.

Can I cancel Rippling mid-contract?

You can deactivate your account at any time via the in-app settings, but you remain contractually obligated to pay all fees through the end of your current Subscription Term. Early termination does not entitle you to a refund of pre-paid fees.

Export all data before proceeding

Before cancelling, log in to app.rippling.com and export all payroll records, employee data, tax documents, and reports. Once the account is deactivated, access to this data may be lost.

Check your contract renewal date

Review your original Order Form or billing emails to find your Subscription Term end date. You must send written notice of non-renewal at least 30 days before this date to avoid auto-renewal for another full term (up to 12 months).

Send written cancellation notice by email

Send an email to support@rippling.com stating your intent to cancel/non-renew at the end of your current Subscription Term. Include your company name, account ID (found in Settings), and the effective cancellation date. Keep a copy of this email as proof.

Contact your Account Executive or Customer Success Manager

In parallel, notify your assigned Rippling Account Executive or Customer Success Manager of your cancellation. They will initiate the formal offboarding process and may schedule an exit call.

Deactivate the account in-app

Log in to app.rippling.com, navigate to Settings → Billing/Subscription, and select the option to deactivate or cancel your account. Note: this step alone does NOT terminate your billing obligation — it must be combined with the written notice in Step 3.

Confirm cancellation in writing

Follow up if you do not receive written confirmation from Rippling within 5 business days. If email bounces or goes unanswered, call 1-888-881-6711 and request written confirmation of your cancellation request.
