Open Airtel Thanks App

Open the Airtel Thanks app on your phone and log in with your registered Airtel mobile number.

Navigate to Help

Tap the 'Help' icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen, then select your postpaid connection from the listed accounts.

Raise a Disconnection Request

Follow the path: Mobile → Postpaid → Account and Billing → Others → Raise Request. In the message field, type that you want permanent disconnection of your mobile connection.

Submit the Request

Tap 'Submit' to file the disconnection request. You will receive a reference/ticket number — note it down.

Clear Outstanding Dues

Airtel will call you within 24–48 hours for identity verification. During this mandatory call, settle any pending bill amount. Cancellation will not proceed if dues remain unpaid.

Confirm Cancellation and Get Termination Number

During the verification callback, confirm you want permanent disconnection. Ask the agent for a 'Service Termination Number' as your official reference that the request is recorded.

Wait for Deactivation

Your number will be deactivated within 7 days of the verified request. The number remains registered in Airtel's system for 90 days before being recycled.
