Can I still use Google Forms after cancelling Google Workspace?

Yes. Google Forms is free for all Google accounts. After cancellation you lose your custom domain email and Workspace features, but can continue using Google Forms with a personal @gmail.com account. Forms created under the Workspace org may be retained if you choose the 'let users keep their data' option during cancellation.

Are refunds available after cancelling?

For annual plans, no prorated refunds are issued after the first 14 days. If you cancel within 14 days of starting an annual plan, contact Google support for a full refund. Monthly (flexible) plans are charged only for days used in the billing period — remove users immediately to stop per-user charges. Any remaining credit balance can be refunded by contacting support.

What data is lost when I cancel?

All Workspace-managed data — custom domain email (Gmail), Shared Drive files, Meet recordings, and Chat history — is deleted within 24–90 hours. Personal 'My Drive' files can be preserved by choosing the 'let users keep their data' option. Personal Google services (Drive 15 GB, Forms, Docs, Sheets, Calendar) remain free and are not deleted.

Can I reactivate my subscription after cancelling?

Within 51 days of cancellation you can resubscribe and all user accounts and groups are restored. Between 51 and 84 days you cannot add a new subscription. After 84 days the cancellation is permanent — you can start a new subscription but previous accounts and data cannot be recovered.

What if I bought Google Workspace through a reseller (GoDaddy, Squarespace, etc.)?

You must cancel through that reseller's interface directly. The admin.google.com cancellation flow does not apply to reseller-purchased subscriptions. Contact your reseller's support for their specific cancellation steps.

Do I need to cancel Google Voice separately before cancelling Workspace?

Yes. If your Workspace account includes an active Google Voice subscription, it must be cancelled first before you can cancel the main Workspace subscription. Do this in admin.google.com under Billing → Subscriptions.

Export your data first

Before cancelling, go to takeout.google.com and export all Workspace data (Drive files, Gmail, Forms responses). Data is deleted within 24–90 hours after cancellation.

Sign in to Admin Console as Super Administrator

Go to admin.google.com and sign in with your Super Administrator account. Regular users cannot cancel — only the Super Admin can access billing settings.

Navigate to Billing → Subscriptions

In the left-side navigation menu, click 'Billing', then select 'Subscriptions' from the submenu.

Open subscription options

Click on the Google Workspace subscription you want to cancel, then click the 'More' button (three-dot overflow menu icon) next to the subscription.

Select 'Cancel Subscription'

From the dropdown menu, select 'Cancel Subscription'. Google may first suggest switching to a cheaper plan (e.g., Business Starter at $7.20/user/month) — click past this if you wish to proceed.

Select a cancellation reason and continue

Choose a reason for cancelling from the dropdown list, then click 'Continue'. Google will display impact warnings about data loss across multiple screens — click 'Continue to cancel' on each.

Choose data handling option

Select either 'Let users keep their data and delete my organization's account' (users retain personal Drive data as unmanaged consumer accounts; shared drives are deleted) or 'Delete users' data' (all data deleted within 90 days).

Confirm cancellation

Check the confirmation checkbox, type your administrator email address in the confirmation field, then click 'Cancel My Subscription'.
