Verify you have no active subscription
DuckDB (duckdb.org) is a completely free, open-source database released under the MIT license. There is no paid subscription, account, or billing associated with using DuckDB itself. Visit duckdb.org to confirm — no login or payment is ever required.
Check if you have a MotherDuck account instead
If you are paying for a DuckDB-related service, you likely have a MotherDuck (motherduck.com) account — a separate commercial cloud service built on DuckDB. Log in at app.motherduck.com to check your billing status.
Cancel MotherDuck subscription (if applicable)
In the MotherDuck UI, navigate to Settings → Billing → Manage Plan. From there you can downgrade to the Free tier or cancel your Business plan subscription.
Uninstall DuckDB locally (optional)
Since DuckDB is a local library/binary (no cloud component), simply remove it: delete the duckdb binary, uninstall the pip package ('pip uninstall duckdb'), remove the npm package, or delete your .duckdb data files as needed.
