Will I get a refund after cancelling?

Refunds are not automatic. You must email ar@okta.com with your subscription details, downgrade date, and reason. Auth0 may issue a credit for unused time only if the tenant had minimal or no login activity (up to the last 3 months). Okta retains full discretion to deny requests.

What happens to my users and data after cancelling?

All registered users remain intact — Auth0 does not delete user data when you downgrade. Your data persists in the system unless you manually delete it.

What happens to my app configurations and settings?

All application settings, code integrations, and configurations are preserved after downgrading to Free. Nothing is deleted automatically.

Can I reactivate my paid plan after cancelling?

Yes. Since all configurations are preserved, you can upgrade back to a paid plan at any time from the Subscription tab in Settings without needing to reconfigure anything.

What do I lose by downgrading to the Free plan?

The Free plan limits you to 7,500 monthly active users (vs. 25,000–100,000+ on paid tiers). You also lose access to custom domains, enterprise SSO connections, advanced MFA options, and extended log retention. Production apps may require an immediate re-upgrade.

What if I can't log in to cancel?

If you've lost access to your admin email, there is no self-service recovery path. You must post publicly on the Auth0 Community forum and then DM @support, providing partial payment details for identity verification before support can assist.

Log in to Auth0 Dashboard

Go to manage.auth0.com and sign in with your Auth0 admin account credentials.

Open account Settings

Click your account name or avatar in the top-right corner of the dashboard to open the account menu, then select 'Settings'.

Navigate to Subscription tab

Inside Settings, click the 'Subscription' tab to view your current plan and available plan options.

Locate the Free plan card

Scroll down the Subscription page to find the plan card labeled 'Free'. Auth0 frames cancellation entirely as a downgrade — there is no dedicated 'Cancel' button.

Click Downgrade

Click the 'Downgrade' button on the Free plan card to initiate the cancellation/downgrade flow.

Confirm by clicking 'Subscribe Now'

On the confirmation screen, click 'Subscribe Now' (counter-intuitively labeled) to finalize the downgrade to the Free plan. Your paid subscription is now cancelled.
