Yes. The Ring Alarm Pro hardware continues to function for local self-monitoring via the app at no cost. You will lose 24/7 professional monitoring, cloud video history (60-day), and backup internet (eero cellular failover).

Can I cancel the Ring Protect Pro subscription in the Ring app?

No. The Ring app does not have a cancellation option. You must cancel via ring.com (or amazon.com if you originally subscribed through Amazon).

Will I receive a refund after cancelling?

No. As of November 6, 2025, Ring no longer offers prorated refunds. Your subscription remains active and benefits continue until the end of the current billing period.

What happens to my recorded videos when I cancel?

All cloud-stored videos are permanently deleted when the plan ends. Download any footage you want to keep before the cancellation date.

Can I reactivate my Ring Protect Pro subscription later?

Yes. You can resubscribe at any time by visiting ring.com and selecting a plan. Your devices and account history remain intact.

Does cancelling affect my eero WiFi or backup internet?

Sign in to Ring.com

Go to ring.com and sign in to your account using your email and password.

Open the Plan section

Click 'Plan' in the top navigation menu to view your active subscription plans.

Select Ring Protect Pro

Find and select your Ring Protect Pro (Ring Alarm Pro) plan from the list of active plans.

Click 'Cancel Plan'

Scroll to the bottom of the plan details page and click the 'Cancel Plan' button.

Select cancellation reason

Choose a reason for cancellation from the required dropdown menu (e.g., 'Too expensive', 'Moving', etc.).

Choose cancellation timing

Select when to cancel: immediately or at the end of the current billing period. Choose 'end of billing period' to retain access until renewal.

Confirm cancellation

Click 'Confirm' to complete the cancellation. You will receive a confirmation email.

Disable Professional Monitoring (separate step)

In the Ring app, go to Account Settings → Professional Monitoring and switch to Self-Monitoring to stop emergency dispatch. This is a separate action from cancelling the billing plan.
