Open Settings & Members

Log in to Notion on the web or desktop app. In the left sidebar, click on 'Settings & Members' (or click your workspace name at the top-left and select 'Settings').

Go to Billing

In the Settings panel, click 'Billing' in the left-hand menu. This shows your current plan, next billing date, and payment method.

Click 'Change plan'

Under your current plan details, click the 'Change plan' button. You may also see a 'Cancel plan' link below the billing details.

Select 'Downgrade to Free'

On the plan selection screen, choose the Free tier to cancel your paid Team/Business subscription. Click 'Downgrade' to proceed.

Complete the cancellation survey

Notion presents a short optional feedback survey asking why you are cancelling (options include cost, missing features, switching tools, etc.). Select a reason or skip, then click 'Continue'.

Confirm the downgrade

Review the confirmation screen showing what features will be lost on the Free plan and when the downgrade takes effect (end of current billing period). Click 'Downgrade' to confirm.

Check email confirmation

Notion sends a confirmation email to the workspace owner's address. Your Team plan remains active until the end of the current billing cycle, after which the workspace switches to Free.
