What happens to my access after I cancel?

You keep all Super Duolingo features (no ads, unlimited hearts, streak repair, etc.) until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account reverts to the free tier and you can continue using Duolingo for free with ads and limited hearts.

Can I get a refund after cancelling?

Duolingo's policy states all charges are generally non-refundable and there are no credits for partially used billing periods. Exceptions may be made at Duolingo's discretion for unauthorized charges or billing errors. For App Store purchases, request a refund via reportaproblem.apple.com; for Google Play, use the 'Report a problem' option in your order history.

How do I reactivate my subscription?

You can resubscribe at any time by going to duolingo.com, navigating to Settings > Super Duolingo, and selecting a new plan. Your learning progress, streaks, and data are preserved whether you are on free or paid tier.

Does deleting the app cancel my subscription?

No. Deleting the Duolingo app does NOT cancel your subscription. You must explicitly cancel through duolingo.com (Settings > Super Duolingo) or through the Apple App Store / Google Play Store, depending on where you originally subscribed.

Will I lose my streak or progress if I cancel?

No. Your XP, course progress, and streak are all preserved after cancellation. You lose access to streak repair, unlimited hearts, and the ad-free experience, but your learning data remains intact.

How do I cancel if I subscribed through iOS or Android?

iOS: Go to iPhone Settings > tap your name > Subscriptions > Duolingo > Cancel Subscription. Android: Open Google Play Store > tap your profile icon > Payments & Subscriptions > Subscriptions > Super Duolingo > Cancel Subscription. The Duolingo website cannot cancel store-billed subscriptions.

Log in to Duolingo

Go to duolingo.com and sign in to your account using your email/password or social login.

Open your profile menu

Click on your profile picture or username in the top-right corner of the page to open the dropdown menu.

Go to Settings

Select 'Settings' from the dropdown menu. This takes you to your account settings page.

Navigate to Super Duolingo tab

In Settings, click on the 'Super Duolingo' tab (or 'Subscription' tab) to view your current plan and billing details.

Click 'Cancel Subscription'

Scroll down and click the 'Cancel Subscription' button. If you subscribed via iOS App Store or Google Play, you will be redirected to manage it there instead (see notes below).

Confirm cancellation

Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm your cancellation. Duolingo may present a confirmation screen summarizing what you will lose. Click 'Confirm' or 'Cancel Subscription' again to finalize.
