Can I still access my notes after cancelling?

Yes. After cancellation your account enters a read-only state — you can view and export all your content indefinitely, but you cannot create new notes or edit existing ones until you resubscribe.

Will I get a refund when I cancel?

Cancellation stops future billing but does not automatically refund past charges. A full refund may be issued if you were charged recently and have not used Heptabase or its AI features during the current billing period. Contact support@heptabase.com with your account email to request one.

Can I reactivate my subscription after cancelling?

Yes. You can resubscribe at any time through the same Subscription settings. Your existing notes and data will still be there.

Can I cancel from the iOS or Android app?

No. Heptabase's billing system is not integrated with the Apple App Store or Google Play. You must cancel via the web app (app.heptabase.com) or the desktop app.

What if the 'Manage Subscription' button doesn't open anything?

Your browser is likely blocking the popup. Enable popups for app.heptabase.com and try again. If the 'Cancel plan' button is not visible at all, contact support@heptabase.com and they will process the cancellation for you.

Will I lose my early-bird pricing if I cancel and resubscribe?

Yes. Early-bird pricing is only guaranteed as long as you maintain an active continuous subscription. If you cancel and later resubscribe, you will be charged at the current standard rate and will not be able to recover the original early-bird price.

Open Heptabase web or desktop app

Go to app.heptabase.com in your browser, or open the Heptabase desktop app. Note: cancellation is not available from the mobile app — it must be done via the web or desktop app.

Open Settings

Click the 'Settings' button located in the bottom-left corner of the app.

Go to Subscription

In the Settings panel, click on the 'Subscription' section.

Click 'Manage Subscription'

Click the 'Manage Subscription' button. If nothing happens, your browser may be blocking popups — allow popups for app.heptabase.com and try again.

Select 'Cancel plan'

In the subscription management screen that opens, click 'Cancel plan'.

Confirm cancellation

Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm your cancellation. Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period, after which no further charges will occur.
