Will my team lose access immediately when I cancel?

No. After canceling, the organization enters 'Pending cancellation' status and retains full paid feature access until the current billing period's Subscription expiration date. Access is only revoked once that date passes.

Can I get a refund after canceling?

Bitwarden offers refunds if your subscription is less than 30 days old. To request one, you must contact Bitwarden support directly (bitwarden.com/contact) — refunds are not issued automatically upon cancellation.

Can I reactivate the Teams subscription after canceling?

Yes. As long as the Subscription expiration date has not yet passed, an organization Owner can click the 'Reinstate Subscription' button on the Billing → Subscription page to restore the subscription with no interruption.

What happens to my organization's vault data after the subscription ends?

Canceling the subscription does not delete the organization or its vault data. The organization will lose access to paid features (e.g., advanced policies, event logs, priority support), but stored passwords and items remain intact. You must separately delete the organization if you want data removed.

Does canceling a Teams subscription delete my personal Bitwarden account?

No. Canceling an organization subscription has no effect on individual member accounts. Members keep their personal vaults and any personal free or premium plans they hold independently.

Who can cancel the Bitwarden Teams subscription?

Log in to Bitwarden Web App

Go to vault.bitwarden.com and log in with your Bitwarden account credentials. You must be an Owner of the Teams organization to proceed — Admins do not have access to billing.

Open the Admin Console

Click the product switcher icon (grid icon) in the top-left corner of the interface and select 'Admin Console' from the dropdown to switch into the organization management view.

Navigate to Billing → Subscription

In the Admin Console left sidebar, click 'Billing', then select 'Subscription' from the submenu to open the organization's subscription management page.

Note the Subscription Expiration Date

On the Subscription page, locate and note the 'Subscription expiration' date shown near the top. This is the date your organization will lose access to paid features after cancellation.

Click 'Cancel subscription'

Scroll down to the bottom of the Subscription page and click the 'Cancel subscription' button.

Confirm Cancellation

A confirmation prompt will appear. Confirm the cancellation. Your organization will immediately enter 'Pending cancellation' status and retain full paid access until the Subscription expiration date is reached.
