Go to kite.zerodha.com and log in with your Zerodha client ID and password, then complete the 2FA verification.
Go to your 'Holdings' and sell all your stocks, ETFs, and mutual funds. Ensure no pending orders or open positions remain.
After selling, go to 'Funds' β 'Withdraw' and transfer your entire available balance to your linked bank account.
Send an email to support@zerodha.com from your registered email address requesting account deactivation. Include your client ID and full name in the email.
Zerodha's support team will guide you through the closure process and may ask for additional verification. The account deactivation is confirmed via email once processed.
Before closing your Zerodha account, consider that Zerodha is India's largest retail stockbroker with βΉ0 brokerage on equity delivery trades. There's no monthly maintenance fee for your trading account. If you're not actively trading, you can simply leave the account dormant β you only pay the annual Demat AMC fee (βΉ300/year).
