Will I lose access immediately after canceling?

No. Your membership benefits — unlimited member-only stories, audio narrations, and offline reading — continue until the end of your current billing period (monthly or annual). Access is cut off only when that period expires.

Can I get a refund after canceling?

Generally no. Medium's Terms of Service state that subscription fees are final and nonrefundable. You may submit a request via the help form at help.medium.com/hc/en-us/requests/new for a case-by-case review. If you subscribed through Apple, you can also try Apple's own refund process at reportaproblem.apple.com.

How do I cancel if I subscribed through the App Store or Google Play?

You must cancel through the platform you used to subscribe. For Apple: go to iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Medium → Cancel Subscription. For Google: open Google Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Medium → Cancel subscription. Canceling on Medium's website will not stop App Store or Play Store billing.

Can I reactivate my membership after canceling?

Yes. Your Medium account remains intact after cancellation. To reactivate, log back in and re-subscribe at medium.com/membership. There is no waiting period or penalty for reactivating.

Does canceling delete my account or my published stories?

No. Canceling only ends the paid subscription. Your account, profile, published stories, followers, and reading history are all preserved. You continue to use Medium as a free reader, with access to approximately 3 paywalled articles per month.
