Go to the Auto-Renewal Opt-Out page
Navigate directly to https://www.webroot.com/us/en/auto-renewal-optout — this is Webroot's dedicated cancellation/opt-out page. Alternatively, log in to your account at https://account.carbonite.com (Webroot is owned by OpenText/Carbonite).
Enter your keycode
On the opt-out page, enter your Webroot keycode (the alphanumeric license key you received when purchasing). If you don't have it, click 'don't have your keycode' — but note this may delay processing. Your keycode can also be found in your original purchase confirmation email.
Check the opt-out checkbox
Check the checkbox labeled to confirm you want to opt out of auto-renewal for your subscription. This is the primary confirmation step on the opt-out page.
Click 'Submit'
Click the 'Submit' button to confirm your auto-renewal cancellation. You should receive a confirmation. Your subscription protection remains active until the end of your current paid period.
Request a refund if recently charged
If you were recently auto-charged and want a refund, go to https://www.webroot.com/us/en/online-refund. Enter your invoice number and exact dollar amount shown on the invoice. Webroot offers a 70-day money-back guarantee. Refunds take 3–5 business days to process.
Alternative: Cancel via Carbonite account portal
If you prefer account-based cancellation: log in at https://account.carbonite.com, click 'Subscriptions' in the left menu, then click 'Options' in the Manage column next to your Webroot subscription, and select to turn off auto-renewal.
