Export your data

Before canceling, back up all data. Log in as a System Administrator, click the Gear icon (top right) → 'Setup', type 'Data Export' in the Quick Find box, select 'Data Export', then click 'Export Now'. Check all boxes including 'Include images, documents, and attachments'. Download the ZIP file when ready.

Find your contract renewal date

Locate your original Order Form and Master Subscription Agreement (sent via email during onboarding). Identify your contract end date and the required notice period — Salesforce typically requires written notice of non-renewal at least 30 days before the renewal date, though some contracts require 60 days.

Check for self-serve cancel option (Starter/Essentials only)

If you are on the Starter Suite or Essentials plan, log in as System Administrator, click the Gear icon → 'Your Account', then select 'Manage Subscription'. Look for a 'Cancel Subscription' button or toggle to turn off 'Auto-Renew'. This self-serve option is only available for entry-level plans billed monthly.

Send written non-renewal notice to your Account Executive

For all paid annual plans (Professional, Enterprise, Unlimited, etc.), email your assigned Salesforce Account Executive and CC billing@salesforce.com with the subject line: 'NOTICE OF NON-RENEWAL – [Your Org ID]'. State: 'This email serves as our official written notice of non-renewal for our Salesforce subscription.' Include your Org ID, contract number, and current contract end date. Send at least 30–60 days before renewal.

Call Salesforce Support to confirm

Call Salesforce Sales & Support at 1-800-667-6389 (Mon–Fri, 8 AM–8 PM EST) to verbally confirm your cancellation intent and have a written record logged in their system. Have your Organization ID ready (found under Setup → Company Information).

Request written cancellation confirmation

Follow up until you receive a written confirmation email from your Account Executive acknowledging the non-renewal. Do not assume silence means acceptance — if you do not receive confirmation within 5 business days, escalate to support@salesforce.com. Keep this email as your official record.
