Do I lose access to my school immediately after canceling?

No. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle. Your school stays online and you retain admin access until that date.

Can I get a refund on my Teachable plan?

Yes, Teachable offers a full refund within 30 days of your first sign-up for a paid plan or an upgrade to a higher tier. Cancel via Settings > Billing first, then contact Teachable support in writing to request the refund. Teachable may decline repeat refund requests.

Can I reactivate my Teachable subscription after canceling?

Yes. If your cancellation is scheduled but not yet in effect, click 'Resume subscription' in the admin banner. If the cancellation has already taken effect, go to Settings > Billing and select a new paid plan to restore access.

What happens to my data and student content after I cancel?

Canceling your plan does not delete your data. Your Teachable account remains, but your school goes offline and students lose access to content. To permanently delete your account and all data, contact privacy@teachable.com. Note: you must delete your school(s) first before requesting full account deletion.

What happens to my students' active subscriptions when I cancel?

Any active student recurring payments (course subscriptions or payment plans) are deactivated — students will no longer be charged once the cancellation takes effect. Pending payouts to you as the creator continue to process normally.

Who can cancel a Teachable school plan?

Only the Primary Owner of the school can cancel the plan. Admin or staff members do not have permission to cancel the subscription.

Remove custom domain (if applicable)

Before canceling, go to Site > Domains in your school admin. Delete any custom domains and ensure your Teachable subdomain is set as the primary domain. Skip this step if you have no custom domain.

Open Billing settings

Click 'Manage Plan'

On the Billing page, click the 'Manage Plan' dropdown button in the top right corner of the page.

Select 'Cancel Plan'

From the dropdown menu, click 'Cancel Plan'.

Confirm cancellation

A popup window appears listing the features you will lose. Review the list and confirm to proceed with the cancellation.

Verify cancellation date

After confirming, a banner appears at the top of your admin showing the exact date your cancellation takes effect (end of current billing cycle). Your school remains online until that date. A 'Resume subscription' link in the banner lets you undo the cancellation before it takes effect.
