Can I downgrade to a free plan instead of canceling entirely?

Yes. LiveKit offers a free 'Build' plan ($0/month) with 5,000 WebRTC minutes and 1,000 agent session minutes. You can downgrade to it anytime through the Cloud Portal — changes take effect at the next billing cycle. This keeps your account active without ongoing charges.

Will I get a refund for the unused portion of my billing period?

No. Per LiveKit's Terms of Service (Section 10.3), no refunds are issued for early termination. You retain access to your paid plan until the end of the current monthly billing cycle.

What happens to my data after cancellation?

LiveKit is not responsible for storing your content or developer applications after termination (ToS Section 10.5). Export all rooms, recordings, and agent configurations before canceling. Session telemetry is retained for up to 60 days.

Can I reactivate my subscription after canceling?

Yes. You can start a new subscription at any time through the Billing page in the Cloud Dashboard. The free Build plan remains available as a fallback so your account stays accessible.

Sign in to LiveKit Cloud

Go to https://cloud.livekit.io and sign in with your account credentials.

Open your project

From the dashboard, click on your project. The project ID (p_xxxxx) will appear in the URL.

Navigate to Billing

Click 'Billing' in the left sidebar, or go directly to https://cloud.livekit.io/projects/p_[your-project-id]/billing.

Open Manage Subscription

In the Billing page, find the Subscriptions section and click the 'Manage Subscription' button. This opens the Stripe Customer Portal.

Cancel the subscription

In the Stripe portal, click 'Cancel Subscription' and confirm when prompted. Alternatively, consider clicking 'Downgrade' to switch to the free 'Build' plan instead of fully canceling.

Confirm cancellation

A confirmation email will be sent to your account email address. Your paid plan remains active until the end of the current billing cycle.
