Will I lose access immediately after cancelling?

For account deletion, access is disabled immediately. For paid subscription non-renewal, access continues through your contracted term end date. After expiry, you have up to 90 days to request a copy of your data before it is permanently deleted.

Can I get a refund after cancelling?

Pendo does not offer refunds for fees already paid. The only exception is a pro-rata refund if Pendo materially breaches a warranty and cannot remedy it within the cure period, per Section 7.3 of the Software Services Agreement.

What happens to my data after cancellation?

Pendo permanently deletes all end-user data within 30 days of account termination. Data recovery is not offered after this point. Export your data before cancelling. You can also submit a formal GDPR/CCPA data deletion request to support@pendo.io.

Can I reactivate my account after cancelling?

If you cancelled a free account (Delete Account), your data is permanently removed and cannot be recovered. To use Pendo again you would need to create a new account. If you let a paid subscription lapse without deleting your account, you may be able to reactivate by contacting Pendo sales.

How much notice do I need to give to cancel?

Paid plans typically require 30–60 days written notice before your contract renewal date to prevent auto-renewal. Check your specific contract for the exact notice window. Missing this deadline locks you into another annual term.

Is there a self-serve cancellation option for paid plans?

No. All paid Pendo plans (Base, Core, Ultimate) are sold as annual or multi-year contracts and have no in-app cancel button. Cancellation must be handled through your Account Manager, Customer Success Manager, or by contacting support@pendo.io or calling 877-320-8484.

Determine your plan type

Log in to your Pendo account at app.pendo.io. If you are on a free plan, you can self-serve cancel in-app. If you are on any paid plan (Base, Core, or Ultimate), you must contact your Account Manager or Customer Success Manager directly — there is no in-app cancel button for paid plans.

Review your contract renewal date (paid plans)

Check your contract for the auto-renewal notice window, typically 30–60 days before your renewal date. Missing this window locks you into another annual term. Contact your Account Manager or email support@pendo.io to confirm your exact notice deadline.

Contact your Account Manager or CSM (paid plans)

Reach out to your assigned Account Manager or Customer Success Manager via email or phone (877-320-8484) to submit your cancellation/non-renewal request in writing. Written notice is required under Section 3.2 of the Software Services Agreement. Alternatively, email support@pendo.io.

Export your data before cancellation

Before proceeding, export any reports, dashboards, or end-user data you need. After account deletion, Pendo permanently removes all data within 30 days and recovery is not offered. You have up to 90 days after paid subscription expiry to request a copy of your data in an industry-standard format.

Free plan: Navigate to Settings > Plan

For free plan users only: In the left-side navigation, click 'Settings' at the bottom. Go to the 'Plan' section (may appear under a 'Subscription' tab). You must be a Pendo Admin to access this option.

Free plan: Click 'Delete Account'

Click the 'Delete Account' button. A confirmation pop-up will appear warning that all data will be permanently deleted and is unrecoverable. Click 'Delete Account' a second time to confirm and complete the deletion.
