Can I access my data after deleting a cluster?

It depends on the cluster type. For Dedicated clusters, backups go to the Recycle Bin and remain recoverable until you manually delete them. For Starter and Essential (Serverless) clusters, deletion is permanent and irreversible — you must export your data before deleting.

Will I receive a refund after cancelling?

TiDB Cloud does not publicly document a refund policy for direct billing. For AWS Marketplace subscribers, all fees are explicitly stated as non-cancellable and non-refundable except as required by law. Contact support at tidb.support.pingcap.com for billing disputes.

Can I reactivate my account after cancelling?

Yes, as long as you have not deleted all backups. Dedicated cluster backups in the Recycle Bin can be restored before they are permanently deleted. If you let credits expire (PoC accounts), clusters are recycled after 3 days and backups after 7 days — adding a payment method before that deadline resumes the account.

When is my data permanently deleted?

Your data is permanently deleted when all backups are manually removed from the Recycle Bin, or when PingCAP formally closes your organization after a support ticket request. Deleting the cluster alone does not immediately destroy backups.

What if I subscribed through AWS Marketplace?

Log in to the AWS Console, go to AWS Marketplace → Manage subscriptions, find TiDB Cloud, click Actions → Cancel subscription, and type 'confirm' when prompted. For billing questions, contact aws-marketplace@pingcap.com.

Do charges stop immediately after I delete my clusters?

Compute charges stop when clusters are deleted, but storage charges for backups in the Recycle Bin continue to accrue. You must also delete all backups from the Recycle Bin to fully stop all charges.

Export your data

Before cancelling, export all data from your clusters. Log in at tidbcloud.com, navigate to your cluster, and use the export feature. This is critical for Starter and Essential clusters as deletion is irreversible with no restore capability.

Navigate to the Clusters page

Log in at tidbcloud.com. From the left sidebar, go to the Clusters page of your project where all your active clusters are listed.

Delete each cluster

Click the '...' (three-dot menu) next to the cluster you want to delete and select 'Delete'. In the confirmation dialog, type the full cluster path in the format '<organization name>/<project name>/<cluster name>', then click 'I understand, delete it'. Repeat for every cluster across all projects.

Clear the Recycle Bin

After cluster deletion, backups remain in the Recycle Bin and continue to incur storage charges. Navigate to the Recycle Bin section and manually delete all remaining backup files to stop all charges.

Open a support ticket to close your organization

There is no self-service 'Delete Organization' button. To fully close your account, click 'Support' in the lower-left corner of the TiDB Cloud console, then select 'Account/Billing issues'. Alternatively, go to the support portal at tidb.support.pingcap.com, click 'TiDB Cloud Account/Billing Support', then 'Submit a request'. Enter a summary such as 'Close my TiDB Cloud organization', fill in your org details, and submit.
