What happens to my account after I cancel?

Your Omega (paid) status remains active until the end of your current billing period. After it expires, the account automatically reverts to Alpha status — a free-to-play tier with restricted skills and ships. Your characters, assets, and ISK are preserved; nothing is deleted.

Will I get a refund for unused time?

CCP Games does not offer automatic refunds for unused subscription time. You can submit a refund request through EVE Online Support (Billing & Account → Payments & Purchases), but there is no guaranteed 14-day refund policy. Steam purchases follow Steam's own refund policy (within 14 days and under 2 hours of playtime). App Store purchases must be refunded through Apple.

How do I cancel if I subscribed through Steam?

Open Steam, go to your username menu → Account Details → Manage Subscriptions, find EVE Online, click 'Edit', select 'Cancel Subscription', and apply the changes. CCP cannot manage or refund Steam subscriptions — all billing is handled by Steam.

Can I reactivate my Omega subscription later?

Yes. Log back in to https://secure.eveonline.com/, go to Account Info, and choose a new subscription plan. You may need to re-enter your payment details. All your characters and progress are still there.

Does cancelling delete my character or data?

No. Cancelling only stops recurring billing and downgrades your account to Alpha status. To permanently delete your account and all associated data, you must submit a separate request through EVE Online Support under 'Permanent Account Deletion'.

What is Alpha status and what are the restrictions?

Alpha is the free tier. Alpha accounts can fly a limited set of Tech 1 ships and train only a subset of skills. Skills above the Alpha cap are temporarily disabled (not deleted) and become available again if you resubscribe to Omega.

Go to EVE Online Account Management

Open your browser and navigate to https://secure.eveonline.com/ — the official EVE Online account management portal.

Log in to your account

Enter your EVE Online username (or email) and password, then click 'Log In'. If you have two-factor authentication enabled, complete that step as well.

Open Account Info

Once logged in, click your account name in the top-right corner of the page. A dropdown menu will appear — select 'Account Info' from it.

Locate the Subscription and Payment section

On the Account Info page, find the center section labelled 'Subscription and payment'. This section shows your current Omega subscription plan and billing details.

Click 'Cancel Subscription'

Within the Subscription and payment section, click the 'Cancel Subscription' button. This option is only visible if you have an active recurring payment plan (credit card or PayPal). If you subscribed via PLEX or game-time codes, there is no recurring billing to cancel.

Confirm the cancellation

Follow the on-screen confirmation prompts to finalize the cancellation. EVE Online will confirm the cancellation and inform you of the date your Omega access expires (end of current billing period). A confirmation email is sent to your registered address.

Optional: Undo cancellation

If you change your mind immediately, click the 'Undo Cancel Subscription' button that appears after confirmation to restore your recurring subscription before the billing period ends.
