What happens to my account and data after I cancel or downgrade?

Downgrading to the Free tier keeps your account active with reduced limits (10,000 MAUs, 5 SSO/SCIM connections, 1,000 M2M tokens). If you fully terminate, access ends immediately per Stytch's Terms of Service, with no stated grace period.

Can I get a refund after canceling?

No. Stytch's Terms of Service explicitly state that all payments are non-refundable and non-creditable. There are no prorated refunds for canceling mid-billing-period.

Can I reactivate my paid plan after downgrading?

Yes — since the Free tier is permanent and self-serve, you can upgrade back to a paid plan at any time from the Billing section in Workspace Settings.

Does my subscription auto-renew?

Yes. All Stytch subscriptions auto-renew for the same period (e.g., annual renews as annual). To prevent auto-renewal, you must provide 30 days' written notice before the renewal date. Email support@stytch.com to do so.

What if I'm on an Enterprise or annual contract — can I cancel early?

Enterprise and contracted plans cannot typically be self-serve canceled. Early termination makes all fees for the remaining contract term immediately due. Contact support@stytch.com or your account manager to discuss options.

What happens to my users' authentication data if I cancel?

Stytch's public documentation does not detail a specific post-termination data retention or deletion timeline. For data deletion requests, contact support@stytch.com directly before or at the time of cancellation.

Go to https://stytch.com/dashboard and log in with your credentials.

Open Workspace Settings

In the left-hand sidebar, click on 'Workspace Settings' (introduced in the June 2025 dashboard redesign).

Go to Billing

Inside Workspace Settings, click on the 'Billing' section. The direct URL is https://stytch.com/dashboard/settings/billing

Downgrade to Free plan

Self-serve cancellation works by downgrading back to the Free tier. Click the downgrade option for the Free plan. This is the functional equivalent of cancellation for Pay-As-You-Go, Pro, and Scale customers.

Confirm the downgrade

Confirm the plan change in the dialog that appears. No proration or refund is issued — the change takes effect at the end of the current billing period or immediately, depending on your plan.

Enterprise/contracted plans: contact support

If you are on an annual or Enterprise contract, self-serve downgrade may not be available. Email support@stytch.com or reach out via the Stytch community Slack. Per the Terms of Service, 30 days' written notice is required before renewal to avoid auto-renewal.
