Will I lose access to Camtasia immediately after cancelling?

No. Your access continues until the end of the current paid billing period. No further charges will occur after that date.

Can I get a refund when I cancel?

Only if you cancel within 14 days of purchase and submit a refund request at techsmith.com/about/return.asp. The software must be uninstalled first. Mid-cycle cancellations do not automatically generate a refund. Refunds take 5–7 business days to process.

Can I undo a cancellation?

Yes. You can un-cancel anytime before the deactivation date by returning to manage.techsmith.com and restoring the subscription from the same dashboard.

What happens to my projects after the subscription ends?

Camtasia enters a trial/viewer mode. You can no longer edit existing projects without an active license, but previously exported video files remain on your device and are unaffected.

Can I reactivate my subscription later?

Yes, but if you were on legacy maintenance pricing (active before February 2025), you permanently lose that discounted rate. Reactivation requires purchasing at full list price.

I purchased Camtasia through a reseller — how do I cancel?

TechSmith cannot process cancellations for reseller purchases. Contact the reseller directly to manage your subscription.

Locate your Camtasia product

On the Dashboard, find the Camtasia product tile.

Open subscription options

Click the ellipsis button (•••) on the Camtasia product tile, then select "View subscription".

Open the cancellation menu

Inside the subscription view, click the ellipsis button (•••) again to reveal more options.

Select Cancel subscription

Click "Cancel subscription" from the dropdown menu.

Confirm cancellation

Review the information shown in the confirmation popup, then click "Cancel subscription" to finalize.
