Sign in to your Proton account
Go to account.proton.me and sign in with your Proton credentials.
Open Settings
Click the gear icon (⚙) in the top-right corner of the dashboard to open Settings.
Navigate to All Settings → Subscription
In the Settings sidebar, click 'All settings', then select the 'Subscription' tab.
Initiate cancellation
Scroll down to find the cancellation section and click the 'Cancel subscription' link or button.
Review downgrade warnings
Proton displays warnings about what you will lose: bonus storage, premium features, and a note that if your Mail storage exceeds 1 GB you will be unable to send or receive email until you free up space.
Confirm with 'Continue'
Click the 'Continue' button to proceed past the warning screen.
Final confirmation
Click 'Cancel subscription' one final time to confirm. Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period, then automatically downgrade to the free plan.
