Can I still use my data after cancelling or requesting a refund?

If your cancellation is approved and a refund is issued, access to the cancelled eSIM plan is revoked. For activated plans that have been partially used, refunds are only granted in cases of verified network or technical failure, and the eSIM may remain on your device but lose service.

What is Nomad's refund policy?

Refund requests must be made within 30 days of purchase. Uninstalled and unactivated eSIM plans are fully refundable. Activated plans are generally non-refundable, except when there is verified network or technical failure and data usage is minimal. Plans purchased with discount codes are non-refundable once installed or activated.

Can I reactivate a cancelled plan or repurchase the same eSIM?

Once a single-use eSIM plan is cancelled and refunded, it cannot be reactivated. If you need data for the same destination, you would need to purchase a new eSIM plan. Nomad Points (refund credits) can be applied toward any future purchase.

How long does a refund take?

If you choose a direct refund to your original payment method (credit card, PayPal, etc.), it typically takes 2–5 business days to appear. If you opt for Nomad Points instead, the credit is applied to your account instantly and can be used immediately on future purchases.

What if the in-app Cancel Order option doesn't work?

If the Cancel Order option is unavailable (e.g., for activated plans or plans not appearing in the list), contact Nomad support directly via the in-app chat or the live chat widget on getnomad.app. Have your order details ready to speed up the process.

Does Nomad have auto-renewing subscriptions?

Nomad eSIM plans are primarily prepaid one-time purchases, not traditional auto-renewing subscriptions. There is no recurring billing to cancel. Each plan is purchased individually, and you simply do not repurchase when your data runs out. However, if you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, check those platforms for any subscription entries and cancel there if applicable.

Open the Nomad app

Launch the Nomad app on your iOS or Android device and make sure you are signed in to your account.

Go to Profile

Tap the 'Profile' icon in the bottom navigation bar to open your account settings.

Open Help Center

Inside Profile, tap 'Help Center' to access the support options.

Select Other Issues → Cancel Order

In the Help Center menu, tap 'Other Issues', then select 'Cancel Order' from the list of topics.

Select the eSIM plan to cancel

Choose the specific eSIM plan or add-on you want to cancel from the list of your purchases. Note: only unused and unactivated plans are eligible for cancellation here.

Follow the cancellation prompts

Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm the cancellation. You will be asked to choose your refund method: 'Direct Refund' (back to original payment method, 2–5 business days) or 'Nomad Points' (instant credit for future purchases).

Contact support for activated plans

If your eSIM has already been installed or activated, the in-app Cancel Order option will not apply. Instead, tap the chat icon in the app or on the website at getnomad.app to reach a support agent and explain your situation. Partial refunds for activated plans are only considered if there was a network or technical failure and data usage was minimal.
