Understand the license model
Principle for Mac is sold as a one-time perpetual license ($129/computer), not a recurring subscription. There is no auto-renewal billing. You do not need to cancel anything to stop being charged — you will never be charged again unless you manually purchase the optional $99 update renewal.
Confirm you have no pending renewal
Visit https://principleformac.com/account.html and enter your license email to look up your account. Confirm your license details and verify no renewal was recently purchased. The optional $99/year update renewal is always manually initiated — it is never charged automatically.
Stop using the app (no uninstall required for billing)
Since there is no subscription, simply not renewing means you will never be billed again. To uninstall the app, drag Principle from your /Applications folder to the Trash and empty it. Your license key remains valid for the perpetual license even after uninstalling.
Request a refund if recently charged (optional)
If you purchased within a short window and want a refund, go to https://principleformac.com/contact.html and submit a refund request via the contact form. Include your order email and purchase date. Note: Principle is a one-person company — expect at least 1 week response time. There is no documented public refund policy.
