Export your transaction data
Before closing, log in to my.zettle.com, navigate to 'Reports', and download your transaction history as CSV or PDF. This is important for tax records (keep at least 6 years).
Ensure all payouts have cleared
Check your 'Finance' section in my.zettle.com to confirm any pending payouts have been transferred to your bank account or PayPal account. Outstanding balances are paid out automatically before closure.
Try in-app closure (optional)
Open the Zettle Go app, tap the gear icon (Settings), scroll to 'Account', and look for 'Close account' or 'Delete account'. Follow the on-screen prompts and confirm via email link. This option may not be available for all account types.
Contact Zettle Support to close account
Email support@zettle.com with subject line 'Close My Zettle Account', stating your registered email and reason for closure. Alternatively call 0203 0510 235 (UK, Mon–Fri 9am–6pm) and say 'I want to close my account'.
Confirm identity and request
Zettle support will verify your identity using your registered email address and account details. Confirm that you want permanent closure and provide your preferred payout method if any balance remains.
Receive final payout and confirmation
Any remaining balance in your Zettle account will be deposited to your connected bank or PayPal account within 1–2 business days. Full account deletion takes 5–7 days. You will receive an email confirmation once the account is closed.
