What happens to my mutual funds and stocks if I close my Groww account?

You must redeem all mutual funds and sell all stocks before closing your Groww account. If you hold stocks in a Demat account via Groww, you can initiate a Demat transfer to another SEBI-registered broker instead of selling, using a DIS (Delivery Instruction Slip).

Open the Groww App

Open the Groww app on your mobile device and log in with your registered mobile number or email.

Redeem All Investments

Go to your 'Portfolio' and redeem all mutual funds, sell all stocks, and withdraw any digital gold or fixed deposits. Your portfolio must be empty before account closure.

Withdraw Your Balance

After redeeming investments, go to 'Wallet' or 'Withdraw' and transfer your entire balance to your linked bank account.

Raise an Account Closure Request

Go to 'Profile' → 'Help & Support' → 'Account' → 'Deactivate/Close Account' to raise an account closure ticket within the app.

Confirm and Follow Up

Submit the closure request and follow any instructions from Groww's support team. You'll receive a confirmation email once the account is deactivated.
