Review your contract end date
Log into your Vanta dashboard at app.vanta.com and navigate to the Billing section. Check your current subscription term end date — you must provide written notice of non-renewal at least 30 days before the term ends or your subscription will auto-renew for another year.
Export your data
Before initiating cancellation, export all compliance data you need to retain. Navigate to your relevant modules within the Vanta dashboard and download any reports, evidence, or audit logs. Vanta cannot guarantee data access after your subscription ends.
Locate your Account Manager contact
Find your assigned Account Manager's contact details in your original onboarding emails or in the Vanta dashboard. If you cannot locate them, email the billing team at ar@vanta.com.
Send written non-renewal notice
Send a written cancellation or non-renewal notice to your Account Manager (or ar@vanta.com). Clearly state your intent not to renew and include your account name and desired end date. Written notice is required — verbal or phone requests are not sufficient.
Confirm cancellation in writing
Wait for Vanta to acknowledge your non-renewal notice in writing. Request a confirmation email that your subscription will not auto-renew. Keep this for your records in case of any billing disputes.
Optional: Delete your account
If you want to remove all data immediately rather than waiting for the subscription to lapse, go to your Profile page in the Vanta dashboard and click 'Delete Account'. Confirm via the email prompt. Warning: this is irreversible and permanently deletes all data. All outstanding fees must be settled first.
