Check your contract end date
Log in to Mein A1 at a1.net and navigate to 'Mein Tarif & Optionen' to find your current binding period end date. This determines whether you'll face an early termination fee or can cancel penalty-free.
Visit the cancellation page
Go to a1.net/kuendigen. This is A1's official cancellation hub listing all available methods: phone, callback, and the digital chat assistant Kara.
Choose your cancellation method
Select either: (a) Phone — call 0800 664 100 45, Monday–Friday 8:00–19:00; or (b) Chat — start a conversation with the Kara chatbot (24/7, accessible from the cancellation page). Phone is the fastest method per A1's own FAQ.
State your cancellation request
Tell the agent or Kara chatbot: 'Ich möchte meinen Vertrag kündigen' (I want to cancel my contract). Have ready: your customer number (Kundennummer), date of birth or account password for identity verification, and your desired termination date.
Decline retention offers
A1 will present personalized alternative tariffs via 'Meine Angebote' (My Offers) before processing the cancellation. You can review or decline these — say 'Nein danke, ich möchte kündigen' (No thank you, I want to cancel) to proceed.
Confirm the termination date
A1 requires a minimum one month's notice to the end of the calendar month ('einen Monat zum Monatsende'). The agent will calculate and confirm your last billing date. If you are within a minimum contract period (typically 12 or 24 months), early termination fees will be disclosed.
Receive written confirmation
Ask for a written cancellation confirmation ('Kündigungsbestätigung') to be sent to your registered email address. Keep this for your records in case of billing disputes.
