Can I still use my project after canceling?

If you delete the project, access is immediately and permanently lost — all data, deployments, and domains are deleted. If you instead downgrade to the free plan, the paid plan remains active until the end of the current billing period, after which the free plan takes effect.

Will I receive a refund after canceling?

No. Strapi does not issue refunds for cancellations made during an active subscription period. The subscription remains active until the last day of the current billing period.

Can I reactivate my project after deleting it?

No. Deleting a Strapi Cloud project is permanent and irreversible. You would need to create a new project from scratch. If you only want to pause spending, downgrading to the free plan is a safer option.

Who can cancel or delete a Strapi Cloud project?

Only the project owner can cancel or delete a Strapi Cloud project. Team members with other roles do not have access to the Danger Zone settings.

Is there an alternative to deleting the project to stop being charged?

Yes. Instead of deleting the project, you can downgrade to the free plan by going to Settings > Subscription and selecting the free tier. This stops future charges while preserving your project data, though you may lose access to paid features and backups.

Can I cancel via email or support instead of through the dashboard?

Yes. You can also submit a cancellation request through Strapi's online support ticketing system at support.strapi.io, or by emailing their support team with your Order ID.

Log in to Strapi Cloud

Go to cloud.strapi.io and sign in to your Strapi Cloud account with your credentials.

Open the project you want to cancel

From the Strapi Cloud dashboard, click on the project whose subscription you want to cancel.

Go to Project Settings

In the project view, click the 'Settings' option in the left sidebar or top navigation to open the project settings page.

Navigate to the General tab

In the project settings, make sure you are on the 'General' tab (it is usually selected by default).

Scroll to the Danger Zone section

Scroll down to the bottom of the General settings page to find the 'Danger zone' section.

Click 'Delete project'

In the Danger zone, click the 'Delete project' button. This will permanently delete the project and automatically cancel the associated subscription.

Select a reason and confirm

In the confirmation dialog that appears, select a reason for deleting your project from the dropdown, then click the 'Delete project' confirmation button to finalize the cancellation.
