How long do I keep access after cancelling?

Your subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period, then deactivates 15 days after that period ends. You can undo the cancellation any time before the billing cycle ends by clicking 'Undo cancellation' in the admin portal.

Will I get a refund for the remaining subscription period?

Atlassian does not offer refunds for unused time on cancelled subscriptions. If you are migrating to Jira Service Management with 30+ days remaining, Atlassian may extend your JSM subscription by the remaining Opsgenie time — contact your account manager or support to arrange this.

What happens to my data after cancellation?

For merged Atlassian accounts, data is accessible until the product deactivates (15 days post-billing-period). For standalone accounts that are fully deleted, permanent deletion begins 48 hours after confirmation and completes within 30 days. Either way, any data not exported or migrated before April 5, 2027 will be permanently deleted when Opsgenie shuts down entirely.

Can I export my data before cancelling?

Yes. You can export on-call schedules, routing rules, escalation policies, alert history, integrations, and user data via the Opsgenie REST API before cancelling. Do this before the subscription deactivates.

Can I reactivate my subscription after cancelling?

Reactivation is possible before the end of the current billing cycle by clicking 'Undo cancellation'. However, note that Opsgenie is end-of-sale as of June 4, 2025 — new purchases and upgrades are no longer available, so reactivation options may be limited depending on your account status.

What if I have a standalone (unmerged) Opsgenie account?

Log in directly to your Opsgenie account, go to Settings > Billing > Subscription, and click Cancel to downgrade to the Free tier (up to 5 users). To fully delete the account, click 'Delete my account' on the same page and confirm via the verification email. Permanent deletion starts 48 hours later and you have a 48-hour window to cancel the request.

Log in to Atlassian Admin

Go to admin.atlassian.com and sign in as a billing admin, organization admin, or site administrator. Regular users cannot cancel subscriptions.

Open Billing

Select your organization if you manage multiple, then click 'Billing' in the left-hand navigation panel.

Find Opsgenie subscription

On the Billing page, locate Opsgenie in the list of active products and click 'Manage' in the Actions column.

Open subscription options

In the 'Manage subscriptions' screen, click the three-dot menu (...) next to Opsgenie.

Select Cancel subscription

Click 'Cancel subscription' from the dropdown menu that appears.

Confirm cancellation

Review the cancellation summary showing your access end date (15 days after billing period ends), then confirm the cancellation.
