Call Secom customer service
Call Secom's existing contract holder line at 0120-025-756 (available 9:00–18:00, closed year-end/New Year). State that you wish to cancel your home security contract (解約したい). Have your customer number (お客様番号) ready. Alternatively, submit a written inquiry via the contact form at secom.co.jp selecting '契約内容の変更・解約' (Contract change / Cancellation) as the topic.
Await callback from local branch
After your initial contact, a regional Secom branch office will call you back to confirm your desired contract end date and schedule the equipment removal appointment. This callback typically occurs within a few business days.
Submit written cancellation notice
Secom will mail you cancellation paperwork (解約書類). Complete and return it so that it arrives at least 3 months before your desired contract end date. Missing this 3-month window will trigger an automatic 1-year contract renewal.
Schedule and complete equipment removal
A technician visits your home to remove all Secom-owned hardware: the home controller, wireless adapter, door/window sensors, smoke detectors, and outdoor flash unit. The appointment takes approximately 1.5–2 hours depending on the number of devices installed.
Return Secom Life Card
On the day of equipment removal, hand your Secom 'Life Card' (ライフカード / security key card) directly to the attending Secom staff member. Do not mail it.
Receive final billing
Equipment removal fees (¥10,000–¥20,000 depending on number of devices) and any prorated monthly charges are billed on your next statement — nothing is collected on the removal day itself. If cancelling after completing the full 5-year contract term, your ¥20,000 deposit is refunded.
