Review your contract terms
Locate your signed Order Form and check the Subscription Term end date and the required notice period. Current Optimizely enterprise contracts (Terms of Service 2024-10) require written notice of non-renewal at least 90 days before the end of your Subscription Term. Missing this window triggers automatic renewal for another 12-month term.
Export all your data
Before initiating cancellation, log in and export all experiment results, audience data, content, and any Customer Data you need to retain. Optimizely may permanently delete all Customer Data within 30 days of subscription expiry — this deletion is irreversible.
Contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM)
Send a written notice of non-renewal directly to your assigned Customer Success Manager via email. Clearly state your intent not to renew and include your account name and Subscription Term end date. If you do not know who your CSM is, log in to the Optimizely app and open a support ticket at support.optimizely.com — support will loop in your CSM.
Get written confirmation
Follow up to obtain a written acknowledgment email from Optimizely confirming receipt of your non-renewal notice. Keep this for your records — it is your proof that you gave notice within the required window.
Cease use at subscription end
Stop accessing the service and all Customer Data on the subscription end date per the contract terms. Verify that the account has been fully closed by checking you can no longer log in after the end date.
