Will I lose access immediately after downgrading to the Free plan?

No. When you downgrade, you retain access to your current paid plan's features through the end of your current billing period. After that, your account switches to Free tier limits.

Can I get a refund when I cancel or downgrade?

Kinde offers partial refunds for unused days of the monthly base subscription fee when you downgrade mid-cycle. Metered usage charges are not refunded. Kinde states they 'err on the side of crediting back any costs' — contact support@kinde.com for billing concerns.

How do I reactivate my paid plan after canceling?

Simply go back to Business settings → Plan → Change plan and select a paid tier. Upgrades take effect immediately and you are charged the full subscription price upfront.

What happens to my data after I cancel?

Downgrading to the Free plan preserves your account and data within Free tier limits. To fully delete all data, use the 'Delete business' option in Business settings. You can also export your data before deletion via the 'Export your data' option.

Can Enterprise plan users cancel on their own?

No. Enterprise plans cannot be cancelled through self-service. You must contact Kinde support directly at support@kinde.com to make any changes to an Enterprise subscription.

Is there a cancellation fee or minimum contract period?

Log in to your Kinde account

Go to your Kinde dashboard (app.kinde.com or your custom Kinde domain) and sign in with your credentials.

Open Business settings

Click your avatar or account icon in the bottom-left corner of the sidebar, then select 'Business settings' from the dropdown menu.

Navigate to Plan

In the Business settings panel that opens, click on 'Plan' in the left navigation to view your current subscription details.

Click 'Change plan'

At the top of the Plan page, click the 'Change plan' button to open the plan selector. Note: Kinde does not offer a direct 'Cancel plan' button — cancellation is done by downgrading to the Free tier.

Select the Free plan

In the plan selector, choose the 'Free' plan ($0/month). This effectively cancels your paid subscription while keeping your account and data accessible.

Confirm the downgrade

Confirm the plan change when prompted. You will retain access to your current paid plan features through the end of your current billing period. No further charges will occur after the period ends.

Optional: Delete your business

If you want to fully close your Kinde account and remove all data, go to Business settings and use the 'Delete business' option. For billing disputes or refund requests, email support@kinde.com.
